Outside of McDonald's at The Dalles, Oregon. In the background is a bridge connecting Oregon to Washington.

Oregon and New Jersey are the two states in the USA where it is required by law for them to pump your gas. You are to clean your own windshields, though, but a kind attendant did mine for me so I took his picture.

Lincoln City, Oregon. The water felt like ice cubes, nothing like Santa Cruz, California or Hawaii.

An interesting room in Salem, Oregon, where I stayed for 2 nights. There was a pot and pan, utensils, dishes, stove and refrigerator...and best of all, only $29.99 a night through Expedia.com. The Crossland Suites.

Hard to believe that this was one of the rest stops along the way. More like a park.

Outside the Motel 6 in Pendleton, Oregon.

Guess you'll have to turn your computer sideways to see this one. Taken in the lobby of the Motel 6 by one of the workers.

Now you'll have to turn your computer the other way. This is Multnomah Falls just east of Portland. To me, it looked like a mere trickle. The man at the information counter told me that a lot of water goes over these falls all year round. It never stops.

This was also at Lincoln City on the Oregon coast. The path that led to the beach was very steep and rocky. After going down to the sand and returning back to the parking lot, someone said that just down the street is another beach you could drive onto. Yeah, now they tell me...I was too tired, just wanted to get back to my room in Salem.

Not all the pictures turned out. I don't even remember where this one was taken.
